Company History

Sleek Garments Export Ltd is a sister company of Sleek Fashion Ltd which was registered as a business entity in March 1979. Its training wing, Sleek Fashion Institute was established in the same year

Our Factory

Our factory has an area of 22,000sq. ft. We have all the required departments; from Cutting to Packing. Our factory’s cutting Department has 2 Cutting Tables 72” x 80”; we also have a Fabric Inspection Machine and 3 Hand cutting Machines of 8” to 10” Blades.

Production Floor

We have 300 machines as listed below. Our Sewing Floor has 9 (nine) Lines for production and we have 1 (one) Line for Training machine operators on the Sewing Floor.

We posses a highly skilled work force and adopt the 7-point Quality system which is the latest in the garment industry. By this method we produce high quality garments.

Legal Status

The company was registered as a private limited liability company under the company's code, 1963(Act 179) in 2002.

Company is under the President's Special Initiative on garments in Ghana and approved by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Private Sector for the manufacture of readymade garments for the export market.

Has 20 years experience in the Garment/Apparel industry. He has worked in countries such as Pakistan and Sri Lanka setting up factories which have sourced major orders from the biggest US buyers. He is well versed in production techniques and quality assurance having worked in large factories overseeing production from sample making right through to shipment.

Nimal has 9 years experience in the quality assurance field and has worked in garment factories in Sri Lanka and Botswana. He is very well versed in the latest quality systems in the garment industry.

Sarath has 8 years experience in the garment industry as a professional machine technician.

Garment Manufacturing

Our primary business is the manufacture of clothing and garment for the domestic and export markets.

In this business we design, create, manufacture and sell clothing on contract, for the mass market as well as the production of designed clothing for various fashion retailers or independent designers. We specialise in the design and manufacture of both premium boutique high-end style clothing as well as lower-end mass produced products for the global retail markets.

We manufacture all types of garments in Woven and Knit fabrics. Including:

  • Cargo pants
  • Chino pants
  • Mens and ladies shirts
  • Polo shirts
  • TShirts
  • Uniforms including technical coats, overalls, combat pants, uniforms for the security services including fragmentation jacket covers

Clothing Design

Sleek Garments specialises in the design of traditional as well as contemporary patterns. Our designs are influenced by cultural and social latitudes, which have varied over time and place.

In the past, Sleek Garments have designed and made clothes for wives of African Heads of State as well as diplomats and dignitaries from Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, USA, Germany, France, Britain and Switzerland.

We cover designs for men, women, children and adults. Our services include apparel design development, consulting services, garment design, production, packaging, in-store shop & fixture design, and store planning.

Training

Sleek Fashion Institute was founded in 1979 as both an institute to train future fashion specialists and also as an NGO.

Its main aim is to: collaborate with Sleek Garments Export Limited to give skills in:

  • Fashion Design
  • Production methods for exclusive wear
  • Mass production methods for clothing

Since its inception, Sleek Fashion Institute has established a design school and a workshop from which uniforms and custom designs were made for customers from all walks of life. This school has trained several hundred students to date. Most of these students have been able to set up their own garment businesses

Africa Sleek Institute of Creativity & Technology Ltd is to be opened in 2019. To develop skills in the various fields of the Fashion, Textile and Apparel Industry and the use of Technology for this purpose.

 

Social Commitments

Over the years, Nora Bannerman has giving numerous career guidance talks to pupils and students of public, govt run schools and private schools. Including the provision of free training to disadvantaged children from Children Homes for Orphans, offering free clothing to the poor and, through Sleek Fashion Institute, trained over 300 young ladies in fashion designing, sewing methods
